How do monitors hook up to the computer?

I have a soundblaster and I was wondering if I could purchase monitors and be able to use them with my soundblaster? What kind of connectors do monitors usually use?

The output of the SB card is line-level analog. You could either connect this to active (self-powered) monitors, or run it to a power amp or powered mixer, which is then connected to passive monitors.

Any suggestions on semi-good quality monitors? Just to give me something to look at....

(notice i say semi good.....meaning my budget isnt exactly endless...)

Oh haha...im an idiot....

I meant to say what are some good power amps.

Does it really matter about the power amp and what should I be looking for in one?

I guess I can spend around 100 to 200 on a power amp if needed.
