I know what a mixer does but where do I put it at? How would I use it? Before I record? After? What about a BUS? What is it and what does it do?

What are you recording to?? What kind of mixer do you have??
How many tracks are you recording with??

Right now? Nothing :) I jus wanna know because I plan on starting a home studio

I would recommend you to download any manual on mixer and read them. (either from mackie, behringer... etc)

they will explain the function of each part of the mixer and how to set them up in a sound system.

that would give you a good basis and you can start asking question after that....

just a thought, that's what I did... :)

You use the BUS to transport the mixer, because it's too heavy to carry and you cannot afford a car as you spend all your money on recording gear...

Actually you can set your mixer on a table but if can't afford one i suppose the floor would do and i'm sorry but the buss is running late.:D

I think that a nice big sturdy cardboard box is going to be you best bet after a table (and if your mixer isn't very heavy you probably won't even notice the difference), I bet you could get hooked up with one of those boxes for pretty cheap too.

If you missed the bus you can always take the subway........:D
