I'm trying out Vegas and I can hear myself through the monitors when I'm recording an audio track . How do I turn this monitoring off so it just records without the instant playback?

When you have inserted the track you will be recording into, click on the "1" (first icon on the left for this track; or whatever you have there) in the picture and then follow this menu....

I dont have that "1" button option there, I had to right click on the track then found it. I chose the mute option but I can still hear myself through the speakers though.

You would need to go to Options\Preferences\Audio Device tab\click the Advanced button ..... then select "Enable Input Monitoring". Then the option will appear in the input selection menu.
Unless you have a multi-input soundcard you may not get the "1" button, instead you will get little speakers (one facing left, one facing right or both for stereo). Of course you will have to arm the track for recording before the input selection button will appear.
Also, you may want to have a look at your soundcards settings ... ie if you are recording from the Line In of the soundcard you will need to go to the playback controls and mute the output of the Line In.

Thanks I tried some of the settings you suggested and got it ....Thanks again!
