I want to record drums to my 388 and everything else direct to disk using Sonar. What do I need to do this?

You'll have to stripe track 8 with timecode, with dbx on track 8 switched off.

Then, you'd use the 388 as master, & have the 'puter software chase the timecode signal of the 388, with a timecode/MTC sync unit as interface between the 388 and the computer.

That's in very general terms, of course. Good luck.

umm..I forgot to mention, I'm an idiot. Can I generate sync from Sonar?

I think that's the function of the timecode generator/reader,

the sync interface unit, not necessarily the Sonar software.

You'll have to consult the Sonar manual for specifics on how to sync Sonar to external clock sources.
