How do I sound like Stephen Stills (Sweet Judy Blue Eyes)?

I would like to have that sound with my own guitar. It sounds like he is using something that sounds like a phaser. I'd like my own sound, but that really sounds full and I was wondering if anyone knew his setup back then. Thanks. I'm not talking about the tuning or strings. I was more curious about what amp he used and if any effects.

I think that's just playing style...the way he is strumming while also maintaining that low string drone.

Back in '69...there weren't too many pedals, and I doubt he was using a phaser or any kind of effect.

IIRC Open tuning, possibly capo'd and possibly Nashville tuned 12 string, but i bet a Google search will get you a more definitive answer.

Its a weird tuning. EEEEBE. It makes the drone work!

I have an old Yamaha acoustic tuned EAEEBE and it works as well.
