Hi, I was wondering if anyone could tell me how I could record my voice over a song, like make my voice sound like it was part of the original song. I'm doing this on my computer with a microphone. I have several songs in .WAV format, and I plan on singing to these songs and then burning it onto a CD as a gift to someone. If anyone can help, like with how I should do this or any software I should try, I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

'What you want to do is OVER-DUB. Now, I don't know what gear you are using.

However, if you have the "music" down on a track or tracks, you just need to put on some cans and playback the recorded background and SING SING SING.

Again, it depends on what gear and/or your set-up.

I do voice several ways. With one client, we put the music from a CD into my Md8; THEN, WE DO THE BALANCE AND TRIALS, and record her voice. Sometimes I put her voice on two tracks for more UMPPPPPP.

But, with good gear and good levels, one good voice track will do it.

So, whatever you're doing, with whatever you are using, with whatever knowledge you are using, with whatever programs in your gear, MUSIC, MUSIC, MUSIC, and then, just record your vocal using whatever devices of knowledge you have or are learning.

I also recommend d/l'ing the n-Track demo as a recording software to checkout

www.n-track.com.

This, with a mic and a soundcard, may be just the ticket for you.
