I've been messing with my fx peddle (Zoom 505 II so it sucks pretty bad), and I haven't been able to find the same sound that Blink uses on their guitars. Anyone have any input on how I can get that sound?
they're ok with me i like their whole take on things they have a good sense of humor ,but did you see his new endorsement deal with Gibson it's a one humbucker equipped es 335 or something like that and it's like 22 or 2900 $s that seems a lil anti punk to me and who of their fans has that kinda change to throw on a guitar (maybe some rich kids parent will also anti punk) anyways....later
Last I remember DeLonge used a Triple Rec Boogie, however it's not uncommon for guitarists to use all sorts of exotic amps and such in the studio when money isn't an issue. If you're looking to get his sound from the recordings, you probably won't get it, at least not unless you're willing to shell out the really big bucks. I would suggest finding your own sound. No use in searching after someone else's.
i think he also uses a humbucker in his strat with really wide and flat pole pieces if i recall correctly
and yeah... a boogie tripple will sound fucking great with NOTHING ELSE. you dont even need a pedal to get a great distorted sound from a stock boogie. if you have a decent pickup that is.

i think it actually sells for like 1100 bucks. at least that's what i read somewhere.
it's a cool guitar. gibson will probably sell less of them because it's tom delonge's signature. i think your thoughts on his fans in general not being able to afford it are correct. the people that can afford it may be turned off because it's tom delonges signture guitar. i would like to get a version of it without the super high output pickup in it though.
Seriously though, a recto and a HB will probably get you there, and there are a number of other amps that have similar gain structures but sound a bit different, the SLO, Bogner Extacy, 5150, Ampeg/Jackson 502/1002, and probably others as well.
I can't say I get 'the tom delonge sound', but I use something quite similar. This is my (budget) setup.
Epiphone Les Paul with 19.5K Humbucker (Ceramic) and 1Meg Pot > Pod II set with Modern High Gain (Boost the Mid's, Gain about half-3/4, little more treble) > Mixing desk/PA
Altogether that will cost about £600 in the UK. As for the states, I can't really help I'm afraid.
Ernie ball strings, 10-52 gauge, fender strat, custom seymour duncan invader pick up in bridge (just buy his signature guitar or something.)
he has 3 mesa cabs. two are run by a mesa triple rectifier, the other one is run by a marshall JCM 900. there is an A/B box to switch between the mesa and the marshall. This is his stage set up.
