This is driving me nuts. On my computer, it seems that all of the PA 9 audio data from all of the songs that I record is stored in one giant folder in Cakewalk. (To open a song, I'm simply opening a shortcut to all of the audio files).

So how do I delete a single song with all of its data without deleting tracks from other songs I've recorded?

I can feel your pain, busted kitty...
FYI, with SONAR, you can "Use Per Project Audio Folder" (Options-->Global--> Audio data) to make them even more efficient. But don't worry... Cakewalk Audio Finder 3 is the answer for you.

Click this link to free download...

Use this application outside Cakewalk. I believe you need it...

You should be able to just delete the .wrk file. Then open PA9 and use the Clean Audio Disk tool.

Make sure you remove the .wrk file from your Recycle bin first. Otherwise, PA9 will not delete the audio, since it still treats this as a live project.

The tool James suggested is helpful and good to have around, but using it will require you to manually delete the audio. The Clean Audio tool does it automatically. I've used it often and never had a problem with it.

I never had PA 9 but I had problems with the clean audio tool with guitar studio 2. I don't trust it anymore.

I would save all good projects as bundles (.bun) then delete all of the audio data and picture cache files. Then as you need them open the .buns and save them as .wrk (or just keep them in the slower opening .bun form)

Audio data... one more reason why A.C.K.U.S. rules!

Oh yeah, baby! Gotta love the folder-per-project setting! :)

hey someone/anyone---

Is a given project' s Audio Data, safe from the "Clean Audio Disk" function once its in a bundle? I mean its a separate copy of the audio files? (I think it is)

So If I do clean audio disk and somehow mess up the WRK file, (I will find a way) >>> that the .BUN file will be fine?????

hey all Sonar snobs, (oops, delete key is broken):

isn't there a way to replicate the "folder-per-project" idea in my little Cakewalk Home Studio? ---with some extra labor? Or is it impossible

thanks alot

Well... yeah.

Before starting a new project, make a folder somewhere. In HS, go to Options -> Global -> Folders and point the audio-directory to the folder you just created. Done!

The problem with this that you need to set the audiofolder every time you open an old project, or start a new one.

Oh I see - thank you.

What about my newbie question on clean audio disk- am I
close?

Thanks Moskus really

Yes, the Clean Audio Disk doesen't open bundles and delete files from them.
