ok, i record part of a track. then later i try to add more to it but, it never sounds smooth. there's always a noise where the one track ends and the other begins. i've tried fading but that does no good. is there something i'm missing? i know it sounds dumb but i can't figure it out. any help will be greatly appreciated!!!!!!!!!

i would look at the wave in an editor like sound forge or cool edit and see if it does it there. If it does then you can just blend together or put a silence in really easy. Who knows it could be it.

I've never used n-track, so I don't know if it allows you to drag a track onto another to create a crossfade between the two. This is what I do in Vegas and it's pretty seamless. It allows you to graphically determine the rate of fade-in/fade-out for each track. You can also graphically control the volume of each of the individual tracks that have been faded together. To line the tracks up you just zoom in at the millisecond level and align waveforms. If n-track doesn't have these capabilities, you should suggest them for a future release.

it has those fetures, but when i align them where i want then crossfade it moves the added track out of alignment. maybee i'm doing it wrong. well i'll just have to work on it, and figure it out. i thought i could just jump into to recording, but it looks like the best way will be to record a little and then spend the majority of the time figuring out the damn program. i've been focusing on recording and not enough on the software. thanks for the help!
