How do I achieve this effect for my solo?

I want my solo to sit way back, yet still have a strong presence in the mix, kind of like the one in this song; Electric Wizard - I, The Witchfinder - YouTube - skip to 8:20
Any ideas on how to achieve that kind of atmospheric effect?

Thanks in advance.
An extremely bare bones way to start would be...Record everything else first and save the solo for the last guitar track. When mixing, make sure all your other instruments are at the right volumes you'd like when, turn the solo guit track all the way down, then bring it up very gradually until you can hear it in the background. A little compression on the lead will help squash it a bit so it's all one volume, then find the frequency within that solo where the twangy/throaty body is and turn that up maybe 2-6 db, then cut that frequency out of your rhythm guitars by say 3 db, so that your lead has it's own space. A high pass EQ is a good start anyways. There is a shit ton of reverb on the lead track, aka musical duct tape, which always help things sit better in the mix. It had a really long decay. Play with the wet/dry signals of your preferred reverb until it's as transparent (or not) as you want it to be in the mix.

Good luck.
