This company magnusdeal.com offers a wide variety of speaker wires...but which one is the best? What is the difference between 16 18 and 14 awg?

Are you doing thousands of watts over a hundred feet of cable? Then you need 12 gauge with heavy duty non-J jacket. If your system is pushing a mere hundred watts or so over a few yards of cable then 16 gauge zip cord from Radio Shack will be fine.

Ignore the trolls. Fair question - the smaller the number, the larger the diameter of the wire (and less resistance to passing the signal).
