you mean you prefer the sound of Elixer for recording. That is why you should by strings, you should not make your decisions baqsed on what strings last longer. I can suggest some alternatives taht could last for 15-years but they might sound loke shit.

I think *some* of the crazy guitar purists on this board don't realize that all of us can't afford to shell out $200+ a month on guitar crap and spend over $1000 on every guitar we own.

Also, I realize that Fast Fret isn't going to work miricles by any means, but it makes the strings feel a little more fresh and sound a little better, and $3 for a bottle that'll last you over a year isn't bad at all. I wish I could afford to restring all of my guitars with elixers every 2 weeks or every time I break a string, but you've gotta be realistic. I'm willing to replace with cheaper strings less often for a marginal amount of sound loss.

I understand that replacing strings can get expensive. I am just stating the obvious. To my knowledge changing strings often is a necessity, there is just no way around it.

i break a string just about every time i play, so im constantly replacing them.

besides playing like a wuss, and boiling them all the time, (wich i dont think you could do with elxers anyway, cause theyve got that wierd plasic in the wounds) there is no good way to protect your strings.

just buy em in bulk so you can save some dough in the long run.

I Need the quality of elixir for recordings! and i'm always recording!!! :)

Elixirs are not of any higher quality than any other string. I actually think their actual build quality is worse than D'Addario or GHS. Now if you like the sound of them more, that is fine, but they are not made any better.
