How can I improve this mix?

It has numerous timing issues and the guitars sound like they were recorded in a dumpster.

I actually really like the guitar sound on this. They sound pretty gnarly...almost like they belong in a heavier, darker kind of tune.

I thought there was some excessive sibilance on the vocals and the cymbals come through extra strong in that same freq. range (wherever it is). Maybe try to tame that a little with a narrow EQ cut somewhere? Maybe not...but try it and see if you like it.

I also thought some of the editing going into the break around 1:30, and during it, and coming out of it, seemed a little rough. Things being cut abruptly and coming back too suddenly and whatnot.

Hard to say without knowing what you've done so far. Sounds like it's got a blanket on it. No much highs or lows. Guitar sounds good in general but did you eq the highs out? Biggest thing missing is the overall bass. Is there a bass guitar in there? Can you turn it up? And/or jack up the eq in the upper mids. Did you eq all the bass out of the kick? All beater, no thump. Is timing supposed to fall apart around 1:50? Not sure it's working for the song or at least the execution seems kinda randomly done. I like the song even though that post punk bratty kid vocal style isn't really my thing.

The guitars do sound thin. I don't know if they can be "fixed" with eq. Someone else might know. Personally, I'd re-record them. How did you record them? Guitar? Amp? Mic? Sounds like you recorded at a super low volume with the mic about a foot from the speaker.
