The MOTU device *is* a soundcard. The Audigy 2 ZS is called a video capture card, but it too, really *is* a soundcard. You should only have one soundcard active at any time.

Windows XP

Control Panel
Administrative Tools
Computer Management
Device Manager
Sound, video and game controllers

Right-click on the device that you don't want to use and disable it. For instance, disable the Audigy while doing audio and disable MOTU while doing video. You can always switch back and forth.

Thanks Nick..I have the motu plugged into the sb card because it is the only firewire interface that i have on my pc...dell 8300 dimension..I bought a stand alone firewire interface once, and the motu unit never would recogniz it. i had a 828 mkIII once and i thought it was bad, took it back got anyways, it wouln't work with it..read somewhere that the motu doesn't play well with the kind of card i had....took it out. That was when i noticed that the SB had a firewire port. plugged in the motu, and bam it worked!! so...if i disable the sb will it still work?
