Its called "Dale" (link in my signature). How's the mix sounding?? not necessarily the playing, cuz we still pretty much newbies

Don't know enough about this style of music to say much. Sorry...
The guitars seems to far out front/loud . The playing on the guit is consitant so I'm not saying the player is bad but the guitar is out of tune and it's hard to get past. The guitar seems too ringy for me but that may be what your wanting. I don't know what type of percussion there is but it's down to low.
Once again I don't know the style and what all is supposed to be in the mix..?
I would also say bring up the vocals the singer sounds quite nice. Reminds me of Gwen Stephon (how ever you spell that).
So number one, take the guitar down and see if that does it for the vocals an percussion (and the bass that's sort of hidden to). You may have to still nudge them up a bit more afterwards.
You should end up with a more well rounded mix imho.

Yeah bro, I aint feeling this one. Like FS mentioned, the guitar(s) sound out of whack. The clicks on the bass sound good, but like your last tune, it's not in key and not loud enough. I don't know what kind of drums your'e using, but thats okay since the bass-slaps are supposed to carry the beat anyway. Although I'm not a fan of your chick singer, it works for this one. She's got a nice voice - I just don't think its right for 'rockabilly'. The arrangement is good, and the song can sound way better with more attention to detail. Buy a tuner and put some stickers or something on your bass player's bass so he knows where the notes are. Just keep practicing.

alright..........so on this one, the guitar is the issue. Imma try to record the guitar track(s)? over and see what happens. I might need a new tuner cuz i think its decieving me?? I do kinda hear what u mean though. I guess cuz my ears are fresh now. Its a traditional set up....electric, acoustic, vox, snare and upright bass. Damn.....makin music is tough but still fun

I agree with the previous posts - tune the guitar and turn it down a bit. Work on the bass. I dig the vocalist here - crisp, clear, in tune good job. The playing is generally very good, just a bit of polish and it will sound great.... Let us hear a remix when you get the chance....

I agree about the mix issues. Guitars are up too much, bring them down and the vocals/percussion up.
I like the tune though. I think it was well played, sung, and recorded.
I also like the tones on the guitar for this song.

This is just a guess but I don't think its the guitar tuner, it could be but, I have never seen a tuner be off on 1 or 2 strings like that. It could be the tuner is jumpy and hard to read.... the other possibility is that the guitar needs some work. without getting technical, you can have a guitar tuned at all open strings and have problems at the third fret because the saddle adjustments are off or It just a poorly built guitar. The other thing could be like we all do on occasion (especialy new players) is that you are pressing to hard on the strings and bending them. Look at the strings when you hold the chord and see if some are closer together than others.

It always happens that way.. LOL! I put the vocals way out front Sucks when I play everything..... I blow a circuit

lol....Probably was just me. We always do jam sessions and just pick up the instruments and go. I will make it a habit of tuning even for cheap jam sessions I have posted a new remix of "Dale". I tuned up, turned down the guitar a bit, turned up percussion and upright bass a bit. Also turned up vocals a bit. Did a few EQ tweaks here and there and also lowered some reverb. I think there is some harshness in the vocals, but i cant seem to pick out the right frequency. I think its around 3k?? Input please. All these songs were recorded months ago, so hopefully our new songs we been working on will come out better with all the tips, criticism, and advice I got here

Thats way better man. Guitar sounds better. It's a little too loud compared to the other guitar, but at least it sounds mostly in tune now. I don't think the vocals are EQ'd poorly, I think they just need some compression to tame the louder parts that jump out at you. Much better overall.

thanks guys. I currently have a 2:1 compression ratio on the vocal track with very fast attack and fast release time as well. What should the threshold probably be?? I might have it too high. I always cut EQ on her vocals around the 3k point though. I think she has a natural high sound. As for bass, i didnt even bother re recording that, but i do think it needs to be tuned. Totally out of tune. I checked it a while ago. A new bass player isnt an option. Its all a family thing

Threshold is dependent on the signal level and dynamic range of the track besides the surrounding mix. Be hard to say without being there. I can't listen right now but I but I don't remember the vocals being uneven all over the place so your probly ok.
