HOPING FOR Help

Well i have been making beats fro about a year and they all come out like trash i have played piano for bout 2 yrs but i dont really how to make a beat i mean i get a good drum pattern made and then i get lost idk wat i should do next can some one help i kinda want a popish r&b sound but any advice is good advise Well

my friend sells beats profesionally,and I told him that if i took lessons I probably would improve more .He said not necessarily.he said he has been in the studio with keyboard players who were extremely talented at playing keys but couldnt make a beat....its either in you to create or it aint..

well i see ur point but then again professional compsoer who compose for okestra dont know anything about making beats but i bet they could and they arent jus making shit its all about music theory thats how they know wat to play and wat notes to hit some people can jus hear the note from the keys and some jus get lucky but idk thanx
 
Music theory is the key! What are you makin beats with? Keep playin piano man. Learn them keys because they will help you to make a beat. Don't expect everything to happen overnight tho man. I've been playin piano for almost 18 years now. I started REALLY EARLY. I'm still learning new things till this day. You will never stop learning the keys man. Go back and listen to some old school and see how they composed songs back in the day. It's probably best just to listen to all types of music so you'll have a well rounded ear for music. Keep makin beats man don't give up!!
