hooking electric guitar into tascam us-122

is this the right method, cause it ain't working,
guitar into amp, amp headphone output to guitar-in on tascam US-122.

there's is another 'cd input & emulated line out'

both don't work.


i just brought the tascam us-122, haven't tried it with a mic yet.
 
The emulated line out goes to the LINE IN of the US122. If the amp's line out is stereo, you'll have to get a TRS -> 2 TS. Then flip the switch to LINE, and turn the input gain knob up. Turn DIRECT MONITOR on and up, plug your headphones in and turn them up. You should be able to hear the guitar through the headphones.

i'm worried cause i think the thing is a dud, i can't get tech support cause
they claim they won't provide tech support to ebay brought products.
tascam no longer belongs to teac, i heard. :confused:
 
I would suggest using the line out and not the headphone jack. This would not make it not work though,
