Versino 3.1 isn't working out for me and I don't have a copy of 3.0 anymore. Flavio only puts the latest build up for download, so I was wondering if somebody could hook me up with 3.0?????????? Anybody?

I believe I have it at home. I usually save each DL into a sub folder because the filenames are always the same...

any idea of the date of 3.0? I'll look for you today at lunch (EST) and post back.

peace,

Chris

Slack, I have 3.0.1 Build 1178 through 3.0.5 Build 1288 - there were 17 versions between them- currently on my PC. (I keep an archive of every build.)

Give me an email address and I'll send you any of them you want.

got me beat lol...

let me know if i can help..looks like you have it covered though:)

Thanks Tim I got it!

Holy smokes, the difference in performance between 3.0 and 3.1 is staggering, with 3.0 performing way better. With 3.1 after much tweeking I was just barely able to work with my giant test project....as soon as I downgraded back to 3.0 I was able to work in it very nicely.

I wonder why that is?

I'm using win98se and winxp pro (on 2 machines...one at home and one at my bands practice space..bad me i know lol)...and on win98se this last build seems to work the best..but I usually never go over 10-12 tracks or so..most of the time it's 4-6..

I have 3.05 working on my Win2K system without any problems. I'm always nervous about upgrading, especially reading about problems here and on the fasoft.com board. I've also yet to upgrade my Waves to version 3.5 :)

(Don't even ask me about my Win98->Win2K upgrade, although it works fine now, there were a few moments of panic as I tried to get my stuff working properly!)

Quick Question:

Are you guys that are having problems working with Athlon or VIA-chipset PCs???

I gotta say I'm working with a plain-Jane Intel P2-450/Win98SE and other than a couple of real early v3 builds, I have had NO problems; each upgrade has been transparent. If this is the case, I'll only upgrade to another Intel chipset even if it means paying a little bit more or getting a touch less speed.

I will agree Slack that CPU usage has gone up with 3.1, but it's still within my capabilities (I'm hitting 50% usage with 10-12 24-bit/44.1 tracks), so I'm going along with it.... besides I plan to upgrade soon to a 1.6-2Ghz PC anyway....

Nope, good old BX440 for me...you'll have to pry it from my cold dead hands someday!!! :)
