Lots of recent questions about Volume II:

What is HomeRecording.Comp Volume II?

HomeRecording.Comp Volume II is to be the second volume in what we hope will be a long series of HomeRecording.Com BBS Member compilation albums.

Can I be on the CD?

The somewhat tentative requirements are as such: you must be an active member of the BBS, having at least 60 posts in the past 6 months or 250 posts total. "Posting" requirements are the same as they are on the BBS (e.g. posts to the Cave don't count).

Will you accept christian/hip hop/rap/metal/country etc?

There will be no genre exclusions! Everything goes; that's the whole point!

What if my recording isn't good enough?

So what! That's to be expected!

I really have the urge to email you telling you about how much I want to be on Volume II.

Please don't. All of your concerns will be addressed in due time. Nothing is set in stone right now.

What will it cost to be on the CD?

Too hard to say at this point. But all contributors should expect to kick in $20 or more. This *may* be more than what we sell the CD to the general public for.

I recorded some band, but I don't own the copyright to the music, can I still submit the material?

You will need to get explicit permission from whoever owns the copyright. They will need to fill out a co-creator contract, which will be available at the time of submission (as will contributor contracts).

I performed the song I want to submit, but I didn't have anything to do with its recording, can I submit it?

No.

I've got a great recording of a cover song, can I submit it?

NO COVER SONGS.

How will the submission process work?

1. I will make an announcement for the submission deadline.
2. You will download the creator and co-creator submission contracts and get them all signed and ready. You will also download and fill out a recording information form.
3. You will create a .wav file of your recording at 16bit 44.1Khz and you will burn this file to a data CDR. No other formats will be accepted.
4. *IF* we decide to do enhanced crap again, you will also copy all of your multimedia to this CDR.
5. You will get a USD money order for however much money it's going to cost each contributor.
6. You will send an email to compcd@homerecording.net saying that your submission is ready, and that you need my address.
7. You will put all of the above into a padded mailer envelope and ship it to the address I provide and it will have to get to me BEFORE the deadline.

You will not get your materials back!

Will you marry me?

No, I'm already married, and into gay beastiality.

Who makes all the money from this comp cd?

The profits will be donated to the BBS.

Why should I care about this crap when I'm having some kind of problem with the BBS or I haven't been here very long or I don't have enough money or somebody was rude to me????

Get bent.

Can I help with the CD?

Yes. But note that we already know how to do this thing at least one way. If you've got some completely new way of doing the comp cd, then don't expect me to be immediately thrilled...especially after how many people bailed on this project initially.

It would be super fantastic if I could get help with simple but tedious things, like printing tray liners and crap like that!

Can I preorder the CD like last time?

Oh yes. In fact, people who preorder will really determine how many CD's we can actually make! People who preorder may end up paying more than the general public, be warned, but they will receive a "thanks" in the liner notes!!!! Note that the "thanks" for Volume One is in the enhanced stuff!

Will there be enhanced stuff on Volume Two?

Highly unlikely.

Will Volume II be a limited, numbered edition like Volume 1?

Nope.

I'm an artist, can I submit cover art or something?

Sure, post it to the forum or send it to me! Note, however, that if you're an artist with one post on the BBS, we'll be less likely to consider your artwork!

Can I still get a copy of Volume One?

You're in the wrong thread dude :)

What's the comp cd?

Holy smokes.

I have some question that really needs to be addressed. It's very important and hasn't been answered by this FAQ!

Email me at compcd@homerecording.net or better yet, POST your concerns to this forum!

Where can I download these contracts you mention?

http://www.youranidiot.com/

Thanks, and keep your eye on this forum from time to time!
