Hello there. Wondering if anybody here can recommend some good "home-remedies" to treat acoustic problems in a room. For example, is there anything out there you can use as a bass-trap, mid/high freq absorber without shelling out hundreds for Auralex wedges and the like? Plus, it's almost damn impossible to find their stuff where I live, and the shipping costs could cripple a man! Thanks again.

One thought is using well-stocked bookshelves as both diffusors and perhaps bass/low-mid traps.

Hi there John!

Seems that the link is not working?! I'm also very much interested in building a nice, cheap, working bass-trap(s). Any other links for that?

My own studio-ideas are brewing well and I'm sure I'll be able to post first "before" pics soon and the info about the place and maybe even the draft floor-plan for you people to comment on.

Thanks Todz! Yeah, that answered some things but some was still left unanswered. But that's life, right? :)

Ohkey, this is an example: http://hem.bredband.net/b108258/controlroom.pdf
Any Idea how those are constructed? Maybe the rear ones are done like the ones described in here: http://www.ethanwiner.com/basstrap.html ? Like covering the whole height of the wall? Just having different shape? Is the fibreglass just clued on the plywood which is the glued/nailed to its' place?

What about those basstraps under the monitors? I've seen some construction having hanger in a box and the front panel being open near the floor. Is this ok?

Lots of questions ... :) I hope my english makes any sense to you guys and you'll be kind enough to help out.
