I'm about to get started with the framework of my homestudio, I have been doing a lot of reading on the subject of wiring. Most everything I've read has said that it is best to have everything plugged into the same outlet to prevent the dreaded "HUM"
My question is......
If I install a dedicated circuit breaker for the studio and wire all the outlets to the same breaker is there still a need to plug all the equipment into the same plugin? Also will it hurt anything if I use one circuit for the studio and one circuit for the sound room? Or would the 2 breakers create a conflict with groundloops and such?
Also I will be putting all the lighting on a seperate breaker. Floresent lighting is not a good choice? Am I correct?

Thanks in advance for any and all input!

Fun questions, Orange.

I'm not an electrician, but it would stand to reason that whether you used the same breaker for all associated outlets or not...if you recieve interference through the circuit, you still will.

I'm using a cheapie RF filter from Radio Shack on each of the two outlets that power my setup. No mo' noise!

I experimented with two different light tube lights during recording. One clicked, the other one buzzed!

Good luck and welcome to the site.

I have 3 seperate circuits. All recording gear on one. The other two are for amps, lamps, headphone amps, etc. Works ok for me.
I'm no expert.

Floresent lights get picked up by single coil pickups so they are a no...no..

I use a seperate circut for the setup but I have not used the radio shack rf things Im interested in finding out about them.

It's most important to have them on the same circuit. But if the wiring in the room is marginal than you might want to put them all on the same outlet.
