ADD -- blessing and curse
Ok,
I'm considering buying one of these two programs. I'd like input on which one is better. I need something that will allow me to record and edit multiple tracks, and it MUST come with drum beats or drum loops.

Does one package have an advantage over another?

I can save about $60 if I buy Home Studio instead of Acid Pro 4.0.

Any thoughts?

If you want to record multiple tracks...............

You will need to get Vegas Pro. Acid will not let you record multiple tracks at once.

Yep... Acid will record multiple tracks, but not at the same time...

Still, I use Acit Pro for most of my stuff since I pretty much doo all my own work. (Guitar/Bass/Sax/Keyboard & Harp (er... harp=harmonica... not the kind that angels play hehehe))

:D That is what I said. :D

It (Acid) will not let you record more that one stereo track at a time.

So Vagas Will?

(I haven't tried it out yet)

Do you have any experience with Vagas Pro? Cause I'm kinda looking for something with the ease of Acid but with more versitility....

If you like Acid, then you will love Vegas Video 4.0.

The layout of Vegas is almost identical to Acid Pro.

Plus, it use the same shortcut keys.

I use Acid 4, but I needed a multitracker, so now I am using A4P in conjunction with Cool Edit Pro 2 (the demo anyway, so far). It is very nice, cheaper than Vegas (which is nice too) and ultra easy to use.

If you want Vegas, try finding an old boxed version on Ebay, like Vegas Audio 2, then purchase the upgrade. I think it's cheaper if you do it that way, because you can find Vegas 2 for like $20-$50.

And it's all legal. :D
