I just set up my studio which includes an amp, mixing board, keyboard, drum machine, and AMD computer with a Gina Soundcard. I thought I had everything connected properly, but appartently something is wrong because when I attempt to "record", my computer is not receiving the incoming signal - it flatlines. I am using Acid, but I am 100% sure I have that set up correctly as per the instructions. I believe the problem lies in the hardware set up.
Please help!!!

its really hard to say what could be wrong. just double check all the connections and make sure everything is on. i know it sounds stupid but it happens to all of us. also where are you at in clearwater? i live right by the st.pete/clearwater airport and would be more than happy to come over and help you out. i'd also like to see what other peoples homestudios are like and it would be nice to meet other people in the area who are into recording.

Valli,

What kind of mixer are you using. And where are is your connection from the mixer to the soundcard coming from and going to. You have several options: the main outputs, the aux sends, the alt outputs (if you have them), the insert cable. Which one are you using?

I am using a Behringer mixer. The Amplifier is connected to the Main Mix inputs, and the Soundcard is connected to one of the Line Inputs. I'm obviously a novice, and I really do appreciate your response to my posting. Looking forward to your further input.

umm..... don't you mean main mix outputs??? and line outputs???

that might be the prob.... U could have inputs connected to inputs... which = nothing

I don't know.... U might just have the input output thing confused

or..possibly you dont have the line input check box checked in your soundcards multimedia properties..thats a simple thing thats usually over looked..someone more familiar with the gina card can assist you more specifically than i can in that regard..
