Microphone: Audio Technica AT2020 Large Diaphragm Condenser
Audio Interface: Alesis IO2 Express
Pop Filter: Raxxess Pop Filter Kit Regular
Mic Stand: Musicians Gear MS-220 Tripod Mic Stand with Fixed Boom Regular Black
Laptop: Still looking for one.
Recording Software: Adobe Audition 3

These equipments are for me and my homies to use for rapping / singing / guitar.
My question is if it's gonna be alright for us? And by alright I mean are we going to regret anything here? Please let me know the tricks on how to make the recorded audio to sound good. By good I mean a quality that someone would listen to all day. Feel me?
I have ordered them already and I am just waiting for them to be delivered. Hoping for the best.

Thanks.

There's no tricks, only craft.

Read the stickys in the mic forum about mic selection and use/placement. Read the manuals that come with your gear. Check out recording tutorials on Youtube about use of compression and FX and how to use Audition.

I got the mic, filter, and stand from musiciansfriend and sadly it didn't come with a manual :(.

I am really curious what compression is because I hear about it a lot. I will surely do my research on that.

Thanks for the videos!

What drivers do I need to download? I have downloaded ASIO driver and the interface is still not showing on my Sounds and Audio Devices. But it can record audio. The gain is just pretty low even when the gain in the interface is halfway turned (turning it more than halfway produces a lot of background noise).
