I am new to Cakewalk Home Studio. I have HS 2004. I did a search on the forum & saw that Sonar 2 Power by Scott Garrigus was recommended for HS.

For Home Studio 2004 is this book better than Sonar 3 Power? Any other recommendations? Thanks.

I'm out on a limb here, as I don't use HS. However, I think the rationale is not that one book is any better than the other, but rather that HS2004 is more akin to Sonar 2 than it is to Sonar 3.

In fact, I believe HS2004 has been renamed HS2.

As for other recommendations, I simply used the tutorials that were supplied with the program (PA9 in my case when I first started). They were pretty comprehensive. After that, you always have the F1 key and this forum. :)

You are correct, Sonar 2 book is about 85 percent related to HS 2004. I have it on order. Moroever, it is the best source for our use.

Hi zyx345,

As jazzzione said (thanks, jazzzione!), Sonar 2 Power is the book you need.

Thanks and I hope you enjoy it!

Silly me!

I should have looked at the poster before I ordered the book. :D

Just kidding. I have "cakewalk power" and learned much. I just ordered "Sonar2 Power" via your website (and Amazon.com) and am looking forward to it. I had Calkwalk 2002 and didn't realize that so much had changed.

Congratulations on your fine series. :)

Yes, I did sign up for the news letter. I've always said that this forum is one of the best going regardless on genre.
