but yeah, it's true. good analogy

(@ SB45) Reaper (I think it's been mentioned several times in this very thread) will do everything you want.

That said - If you don't have a computer that's pretty well tweaked for audio at this point, I would imagine you might not have an interface for it either... Although without question, the front end gear is going to have a rather impressive impact on the recording quality, you can only record as many tracks simultaneously as your interface will record.

I expect that julianfernandez is not equating 'understanding' with 'condoning'. There is a difference.

Though we might 'understand' why someone does something, we don't necessarily have to approve it.

In any case, you are right. A price difference doesn't justify theft.

That´s what I meant... I can "understand" people doing that... I don´t agree with that, but that´s another story. It´s not me who are supposed to judge them. I have very close friends that download music (heck, I even did that in the past), and I try to understand that´s their desicion; not mine.

John, what I tried to say is that if the prices were so high, I would understand (again, besides my own judge) people downloading them... but to me, these days, most "piracy crimes" comes from ignorance...

Most people know nothing about Linux (or even Wubi!), or Reaper or thousands of great cheap or even free apps...

And one more thing... People doesn´t steal Ferraris because they´re afraid from jail, nothing else... Internet offers the chance to do it and no one cares... but that´s a different story. End of rant. :D

Ive been reading all the posts on the forum and i would actually have to say that this thread has been ruined...

Btw thanks for the input and different opinions and ideas on software/hardware and things like that but im just confused at the moment. Being a noob here i think that this has been a not so pleasant start on the forum...

I have not got any proper recommendations as of yet....Like i said im still yet to get opinions and ideas on different USB audio interfaces...Has anyone had any experience with any of the M Audio's...? or any other interfaces for that matter...Please give me some more info on this subject if possible...

Thanks
J

Jeeezus freakin' tap-dancing Christ -

[LONG RANT EDITED OUT]

We're all really sorry for your "not so pleasant start on the forum" I'm sure.

Maybe see if you can find a forum that doesn't have strict "no piracy" regulations.

Massive Master,

No need to get so angry and swear your a** off about it...Its not going to change a thing alright...

I can't be bothered if i upset your feelings just because i happened to download a software that you had to pay for with your hard earned money....It happens all the time and if you don't know about it too bad...People are downloading software,music etc etc under your FAT nose. If you are that ignorant i can't help a thing, welcome to the 21st century old man!!! :mad:

P.S - This is all your fault, I don't see why this informative forum should run around with your help...

Don't care if my profile it deleted....

You have got a number of posts giving you advice!

Tim has given you a long list of reading materials and advice that is well worth having a look through. I sent you a link to a website which will help you decide which interface/soundcard you need. As well as this, a number of people have told you about cheap DAWs you can use, such as Reaper.

I think you should have a read through the materials and look up reviews for the products you are interested in.

People on this board are more than happy to help, they're just not always willing to spoon feed people who don't take the time to research themselves.

Here is the HR policy on piracy:

TOS said:
you will not post any messages on this BBS that are:

• Requesting for or posting of serial numbers, direct links to cracks or any other information that violates copyright laws or any other laws protecting intellectual property;

• Requests for downloads of anything that is not freeware, shareware, trial versions or copyright-free material (hence, no ISOs, Warez or MP3s that are protected by copyright). Any references to such activities will also lead to deletion of the topic;

Technically, that does allow me to delete this thread, but I'll leave it locked to serve as a lesson for others :D
