Hello there, this is a track my friend and I recorded. It's not quite finished yet, we are definitely re-recording the guitar solo since it's a bit sloppy.

My problem is getting the chorus to hit a little harder than the verse. Seems to be pretty flat right now...
Any suggestions or all other feedback is much appreciated.
Thanks!
:D

Totally reminds me of Radiohead. I dig the song, and it could really benefit from a recording that does it justice. A couple quick comments:

1) Drums are too far back.
2) Bass sounds a touch out of tune
3) Get the guitars out of the center!

From a stylistic standpoint: Not digging the distortion you're using. On the solo it's fine, but the distortion in the chorus - not so much. I can' tell if you have bass distortion or if it's just the guitar that laying directly on top of it. Try no distortion on the bass and moving the distorted guitar to the left and right. If you only tracked it once, track it again so you have one left and one right. Or you can cheat (which usually doesn't sound as good) and phase widen it or copy and nudge.

Thanks for the feedback dogmatic, glad you dig the song.
I agree about the tone, the distortion doesn't stylistically match the song. The guitarist is stuck on that tone unfortunately. I may need to twist his arm a bit more.

Can't really add anything that DogmaticVox hasn't already said. The tuning problems being intermittent, I suspect it may be an instrument with a bad setup (intonation problems). Not bad otherwise.

Yeah, the bass guitar had bad intonation problems. We'll definitely need to redo that.
Now when you say the drums are too far back, would you say it's a volume issue?

What a freaking cool guitar tone on a freaking cool song. Nice.

Agree with Radiohead opinion.
Everything is too centered. Do some panning, especially with guitars. Stereoshaper at lead guitar maybe? Vocal sounds really nice, but it needs more stereo space. Kick stuff to the sides, let center for the vocal. About percussion - not rly volume issue. More like EQ.

Track is good, but mixing needs to be improved.
