i think it would be cool if everyone posted pics of home-made Shokmounts, pop-filters, or any thing that they made

maybe some of us could get ideas of how to make things that can cost $50 for like 2 dollars

Last week I had to make an emergency pop filter out of a wire coat hanger and a pair of tights that the singer's girlfriend had to bring us. She was extremely embarrased, but it worked well

The good ol' wire coathanger and a (preferably dirty) sock.

What about duck taping the mid of your mic lead to the roof so you have a drum overhead.

Yep, been there done that, $20 mic to.

The broom/mop mic stand is always a classic.

C7sus devised a killer home made shock mount. This was at least a year ago; I'll see if I can find the thread.

I often run out of mic stands and have to resort to the old paint can. I taped a 20"x 2" peice of oak (scrap flooring) to the top of a paint can to mic my 2/12 guitar cab. Do whatcha gotta do.
Maybe I'll post a pic of our single to double kick vdrum conversion. That's funny, I'll be back.

this is mine

after several prototypes, starting with an emty tape roll and som rubber bands, then a pvc cradle lined with sock, then a 3/4 inh copper coupling with foam tape, finally i upgraded the outside to 2" ABS

Well, I did that in a maintenence shop I used to work in, I was an industrial electronics tech. I had access to stainless steel piping, and misc metals. I also had to learn how to tig weld, and got pretty good with a bench grinder. I was able to make it in about 8 hours. It was a slow work day. The main ring is made out of a stainless steel pipe cut to about 3/16" or so, then I mounted everything else around it.

oh, sorry, I think it's really creative. I just used materials that were perfect for the job, you had to look around the house. Which is harder. I really like it, it seems perfect for a pencil ccondensor. Nice work
