I ordered my Davisound TB10 in the middle of March. I keep getting emials saying it won't be that much longer. Now he is saying that he doubts it will be ready to ship buy the end of this week. This is amazing. First he says 5-7 weeks. Now he contradicts himself and says the average time for a TB10 is 8-9 weeks, so "we're really not that behind"

That was a thousand dollars. I would like to start recording my 7" soon. As in now.

Lets see March 17th I got an email from him with my reciept of payment..............its June 16th now...............I am counting 12-13 weeks here just off hand.

Thats fucked up.

Hey RecordingEngineer.....where are you......I need someone devoted to this guy to give me some happy words because all I have is a mouth full of dirt right now.

Yeah, listen to what c7sus has said... It'll be well-worth the wait.

I've noticed Hayne almost always has a hard predicting the completion of projects; just the way it is, no matter how hard he tries to get even reasonably accurate in his predictions. I've never minded it what-so-ever or even cared for that matter.

In fact, it's all that time it takes to hand-build a project that makes the wait well-worth it! Besides, he constantly gives updates on where it's at and gives you an updated prediction. Of course, he himself knows he has a very hard-time predicting completion. So much so, that he's often wondered what's the point. He keeps-on tring to though... But, it's not like he takes your money and then just sits there twiddling his thumbs, working on it whenever he gets the erge...

And, yeah there has been times when DaviSound is waiting for supplies. I remember last year, 3 months and several phone calls later, he finally got-in 2 of a stock Atlas part for my DS-1950 mics!

Hand-built gear takes time. It's just the way it, but the reason behind all that time is why we buy it; because the way gear is manufactured DOES influence sound-quality, signal-integrity, and dependability.

Hey, it's not like the 3 years and still counting wait for a my SPA modded mic... I haven't complained...

The thing is, back on May 17th I got an Email saying it should only be another week or two..............I mean, come on...........if builds so many of these things he should know the difference between a week or 2 and A MONTH!

...and to be honest, I don't think it will ship next week either.........in fact I am starting to wonder if I will ever get it. To be fair I will give him to the end of the month. Then is BBB and lawyer time.

Well, I've told you that ALL of which you are concerned about shouldn't be of concern as it IS common with Hayne (He does all that stuff to me all-the-time!) and ALL hand-built and/or custom gear from ANY company, and that you WILL receive it... THIS coming from a customer who has bought a total of 8 things from DaviSound via nothing but email! 4 I'm still waiting for them to be completed. Plus I have and STILL AM waiting for custom gear from other companies to be be completed; all of which is longer-running than ANYTHING I've bought and received from DaviSound.

But if you feel you need a scummy lawyer for this, even after all I've said, then that's your concern. But personally, I'd be expressing my concern to Hayne. Then again, why would you listen to him if you won't listen to an 8-time (and still counting) repeating customer, even after you specifically requested my personal experience with DaviSound?

I appreciate that "scummy" in front of lawyer. It tells me so much about your good character.

HAHAHAHAAHAHAHAhahahahahahahah............................!!!!!!!!!:D :D :D :D

All I am saying is that I was told to expect 5-7 weeks. I am now going on to 13. ..and he expects it to be atleast next week. So now we are talking about 14 weeks. How am I supposed to feel. I mean, if I was rich I would write it off and have my henchmen make things and people disappear. I am not rich however. So now I have already spent a thousand dollars, say that again a little slower...a thousand dollars........$$$$.$$......... on a piece of gear that I NEED. Now. Not in 10 months. Now.

I got nothing against you RE, but lawyers are good dealing with the scum of the earth. Though I have always wanted to be a vigilante;)

And me about yours for you feeling you needed to waste your time to post a reply over such a stupid over-generalized comment I made playing-around, playing-around on what is known to be over-generalized.

But it's funny, when I wrote that word, I thought to myself: I can already see some lawyer here posting a reply here, taking personal offence to my stupid comment, while it was nothing more than "playing-around". Because as a general statement, that profession DOES typically get a "scummy" rep. But never would I have suspected someone reading my comment here and reply seriously, making a vastly general opinion of my character, based on nothing more than THAT comment!!!

I think THAT deserves a  more than yours!

Just MY opinion since you sure didn't hesitate to express yours without getting clarification on what I meant.... Which honestly was ABSOLUTELY NOTHING other than "playing-around" by using that word in front of "lawyer". And you may not believe me, but there's nothing I can do about that other than say my typical, "Oh Well."

Sorry to be so up-tight on this, but it's kinda hard not to be when you're being.

I was thinking of starting my own Pro Audio company.

It would be called "Whenever We Get Around To It Mic Pres."

The WWGATI would be sooo worth the wait. I'm taking advance orders right now. I don't know how to build one yet, so I can't guarantee it will arrive very fast (or sound very good for that matter), but as soon as I figure it all out, you'll have it at your door. I accept all major credit cards and/or paypal, by the way.

How can you tell when a lawyer is lying... their lips are moving. Sorry guys... I couldn't resist. :D

Sorry chess, but that is SPAM. I'll have to report this to... Oh wait... Ummm... Nevermind... That won't work... :D

The title of this thread couldn't be any more perfect!

You can legally break that order now. If he said 5-7 weeks in March and it's now 12-13, he has not fulfilled his obligations as a seller, and the deal is off.

The problem is getting the money back, of course. But you do have the right to do this. International trade agreemenst stuff, this. I've read it. Fantastically boring...

I can only hope to be a 'scummy' lawyer someday.

In three years I'll be done with law school. So if anyone wants to put me on retainer now--it will be so worth the wait.

<Picturing my scummy self in 15 years, in a pent house hot-tub, near-nekked honeys under each arm, starting to bald, on a cell-phone giving advice to my mobster clients.>

Everyone hates lawyers except their own lawyers.:D
