I'm recording using audacity on an acer laptop and its not the microphones fault cause my built in Mic and my guitar do the same things. Is there an effect or something I may be able to use? Maybe a different free audio recording program? :spank:

I would guess it's the onboard audio in your laptop. If you want to record with any quality, you're going to need some kind of interface.

Is that something downloadable or is that gonna be like a preamp kinda deal?

"Hollowness" - do you mean it sounds like you are in a big open room? That could be a function of the mic position or that you have 'reverb' on (it may be on via default settings)

Well its not reverb. It just sounds like the audio is covered almost. like a bad reverb effect job. idk what it is. im gonna try a different program and see if its at all better or different.
