make sure your soundcard is set to record the LINE IN and your mic pre is plugged into the LINE IN , not the MIC IN.

FALKEN said:yeah, that happens all the time. seriously there are probably at least 4 or 5 threads just like this one. and somebody always bashes behringer for the hissing. every time. seriously though, the behringer stuff would only hiss if they could find a way to copy the hiss from somewhere else. glad you got it working.

TravisinFlorida said:yea, i was just crackin on the berry pre a bit after sensing a rude tone in his post. why be rude when you're asking for help?
i personally have owned one small behringer mixer, when they first came out. i traded it to a friend and shortly after, one of the main outs stopped working. that was enough to turn me off. i hear that their early stuff was pretty unreliable compared to their current stuff.

FALKEN said:that's like, barely an upgrade. why don't you buy a sound card.

the only piece of behringer gear i have is the HA4700 headphone amp. it does the job. it's noisy, and 2 of the channels run a bit hotter than the other 2, and i've noticed a degradation in sound over the last year or so.
i certainly wouldn't want to run anything critical or crucial through it....especially anything that was in my monitoring (or heaven forbid recording) chain. but for powering headphones loud enough to be heard over drums and roaring amps, it does that just fine.
given the crapulent sound of that thing, i usually cringe when i think about a behringer mic preamp or monitors.....but hey, more power to those who use em and think they're fine.
cheers,
