Hissing sound

I recorded some music in Cakewalk (Pro Audio 9) and when I played it back it sounds like I recorded it from a Tape or something. Describe it as a hissing sound but it sounds like a tape not a true digital clarity. Please help

What were you recording? What do you have in your sound chain? Can you post a sample? Is it constant or intermittent? The more you can tell the better chance of getting a good answer instead of a guess.

Sounds like noise in your chain. A sample would be nice like already said.

First of all: please put a sample... if you don't know how go to www.nowhereradio.com and upload it there.

A high frequencies cut will do the job, but you may loose some brightness too... try cutting with an EQ above 14 or 16 KHz

Sample Rate Maybee?

What sample rate are you recording at? If you record too low it will sound like bad tape, check that its recording at 16bit and at 44100 hz
