i get some hiss while recording audio tracks, some on condenser mic for vocals and acoustic guitar, also some when thru mixer and straight in electric guitar..not all tracks all the time...i think it may have to do with recording level or possibly with mixer level...where do you guys set your stuff...i do not think it is my computer or mixer as it is not there on all tracks....record loud?...if so..how

Keep the volume as high as possible without going into the red. Avoid clipping at all cost.

thanks moskus............you mean the record level on the track recording level?...or before it gets to sonar..or both

At least on the track recording level... But to get as high SNR as possible don't turn it too low on the mixer either.

Turn OFF ALL other unused inputs to your soundcard. This is a common problem. A DI guitar should have no-hiss (the mixer will have a tiny bit)
