Hi all,

I just bought the (excellent) Dynaudio M6A monitors and the Behringer 8024 graphic equalizer. I am very happy with the clearity of the sound and since I am now able to see what my mix looks like I have confirmation of what I hear.

However i immediatly saw that I have a permanent hiss on and around 50 Hz.

I have shut down every instrument and it seems like the hiss is coming from my Mackie 32/8 mixer.

I have read some articles in the past but I can not recollect for sure how to get rid of this hiss...

Is there a method to get rid of this hiss from the mixer? It is an earthed plug and I use the same powercontact (correct English?) for every instrument including the mixer.

Any tips?

Cheers,

Acid

You're new to recording, aren't you? I can tell.... ;) :p (hint - it doesn't quite work that way.... you hear with your ears, not eyes -- trust your ears before your eyes, at least in matters related to audio!)

Hmmm... this makes no sense.... hiss is around 8000-10000Hz, whereas 50Hz is 50Hz.... you can't have "hiss at 50Hz".... did you mean "hum" rather than "hiss"?

Sounds like you have a grounding issue... here is a useful article...
