Hihat Freq ??????

I have an old drum track, the high hat is just that bit to loud in it, but the feeling is there. If I use a notch filter, is there any frequency range I could cut that would help ?

I would think ~12kHz

Sweep it narrow til you find the offending freqs, then widen the Q til you like what you hear.
