me and 3 buddies jammed out some stuff yesterday and i think i'm getting close to a good mix. we recorded 3 guitars and the drums live, then overdubbed bass(me), more electric guitar, and some brief acoustic. Still working on getting the drummer to use a click track. please excuse our timing.
be nice we only are just learning here. plus i don't think my den has the *best* acoustics(although its probably my recording technique that needs the work).
as far as equipment/technique:
guitar amps were a crate 2x12 combo (boss distortion pedal for distorted parts) and a kustom half stack (very light onboard distortion)
guitars were done with audix mics(f10s and SM57), the bass i fed direct into my yamaha board, and the drums got 2 overheads(audix f15), kick(audix f12), bottom snare(SM57), and 1 tom/ride (blue ball), acoustic guitar with blue ball.
19 tracks in cubase sx, some compressor, a little reverb on a couple things, etc.
please don't flame!
