"High Time"

Liked the doubled guitars. They're really tight. I might nudge them just a little closer to center so the gel a little better for listeners on headphones.

Vocals sound good with the exception of the intro. Unless you intended that. Sounds like some pitch problems around :07.

The guitars sound like they're out in front of the vocals. I might high shelf the guits and take a couple of dbs off above 16k or so and wet them down with a subtle hall verb. And compress the vocals a little harder. Just thoughts.

Little click on the right side at 2:24. Couple more at 2:54 and 2:56.

you know, i had those guitars in tighter to begin with.... then moved them out more....i wanted to hear more separation.
as it is, the panning is actually moving, during certain sections....
i'm kinda on the fence about liking them so seperated... but then your comment about getting them to gel more, makes sense from a pure production standpoint.

ok, food for thought for sure, i'll be playing with the panning.

vox at beginning, yeah, it's a bit flat on the start, and i have another voice doubling it... maybe i'll take the backup voice harder, blend out the primary vox (which is the pitchy one).... i left it, because i kind of liked the way it felt...vulnerable.
but maybe that's a stupid idea!!

the gits already have a very mild application of reverb....they were really dry to begin with... and i added a high shelf boost at 8khz at final mix, maybe i need to back off that a bit.

I love it all around! I listened on phones, and I like the separation on the guitars--but I'm a known double track junkie; I like the drama and space of hard left & hard right!
 
Awesome. That's a great acoustic recording, very smooth. I love the balance of the guitars and vocals. I think there's room to bring up the perc. I think it will really get the song driving even more than it is right now. Very cool. Nice playing.
 
I don't think you'll sacrifice much of the "biggness" if you nudge them in just a wee bit. Not much. And then they'll sound like one guitar to the casual listener, even on headphones.

i like the idea of actual performances layered, tho i know a lot of folks will copy tracks just to make it fatter...

Very cool! I was/am a big Days Of The new fan, and this has that "heavy" acoustic feel. Great guitar riff that drives it. Maybe I'd like to hear more prevelant percussion? Maybe not, sounds good as is.
 
Dude, amazing. This is really good music. I couldn't presume to improve on it in any meaningful way.

Absolutely--always played twice. No matter how tight you play it, there are always tiny little difference, and those little nuance make the thick, lush sound!

And that's just playing it exactly the same. When you consider changing guitars, changing amps, different chord inversion--ahh...the possibilities are limitless.

And I really like the way you use the technique.
 
Sounds great Gonzo.

Good voice. The guitars L and R are tight with the meter and balance each other sonically, but the small aspects of their rhythms are different enough that it gives it an intricate, and in places an almost polyphonic, effect. Nice gtr lead lines near the end also.

A fine mix indeed...I have nothing to add really, but did want to let you know I listened and I am impressed. Very polished.

I really liked the guitar interplay from 3:00 until the end...subtle, yet jammy.
 
Agree, it sounds good. Didn't hear the original, but the guitar separation right now sounds very good.
