Sorry if this has been asked a million time but how do they speed up the voices at the end of commercials? How would I do it in Cool Edit Pro?
Thanks

Time stretch. Don't know if it's in Cool Edit or not.

The MPEX is one of the best. I believe it comes stock w/Nuendo and perhaps Cubase SX.

it is in cool edit, doesn't change pitch...go into the loop properties for any given wav and you will see it...
haven't used it much, but i know it is there.

Don't know if anyone here has ever actually done it, but I interned at a tv studio. The one I worked at took the talent recording the legal terms and conditions at a fairly quick pace, but not uncomfortably fast, and actually cut out all of the spaces between words manually. If you use a time expander, or compressor, you could cut important sounds out of the words, and when you're dealing with "the fine print" that is not an option.
