I'm old fart. :D

I had the pleasure of seeing Seals & Crofts perform in Providence, R.I. back in the 1970s. I have all the albums they ever recorded and suffice to say that I'm still a huge fan of their songs after all these years.

I've recorded a few covers of their work over the years.

I'd appreciate any and all feedback concerning my cover of "High On A Mountain". I think it's a bit bass heavy overall. There's a lot going on here with guitars, keyboards, subtle mandolin, and of course.....my crappy vocal.

High On A Mountain

Sounds good.
Nice relaxed feel to it.

Great atmosphere.

I like the sound on this, its really suiting the song.

and dont sell yourself short on the vox, I think theire good for this song.

I`ve not heard the original.

Its defenitly down my street.

nice work.

Nakatira,

Thanks for listening and thank you for the kind words.

I've always found myself to be extremely critical of my vocals, especially over the past few years. Years ago I could hit much higher notes than I'm able to do today. One of my favorite songs to sing was "Fooled Around (And Fell In Love)".....Elvin Bishop tune..... originally sung by Mickey Thomas. My old band duties required me to also cover the vocals of Steve Miller's tunes. Alas, I think Steve himself perhaps would struggle hitting some of the high notes that he was once was able to hit. Peter Frampton still does a great job of playing guitar, but is cautious vocally. Sad to say....it's all part of the aging process. I'm sure that Clapton can't do everything he once was able to do vocally, not to mention the aging voices of CSN. ;)

Thanks again for listening. :)

I know what you mean...

Most of my favorite bands are way beyond theire prime, sutch as Jethro Tull, Deep Purple, Uriah Heep.
I`ve seen these bands live recently, and they were all struggeling emensly, specially Ian anderson of tull, it seems that he have "less" than an octave left of his voice.

This dosent happen to all, but most are faced with this "problem" act of nature.
I guess the only thing to do is to compremise and use what you`ve got.

Kinda like me when I play the guitar :D

In the end its the musical message that counts, nad you sure made that happen in your tune.

Damn man...pretty smooth. If I had your crappy vox, I'd try and sing, instead of grunt... :D

Really man, this sounds pretty damn fine. All around. Nice playing on teh instruments, and the voice fits very well.

I got nothing to offer for advice.....this is pretty good. I like what you've done.

Cool man...

Man, great voice!

I've never heard the original. This is a very choice recording. Love the high guitars.

I listened to this coz I like mountains. And I also use only a shoe phone. (Actually that is a lie. I don't have ANY phone.)

Thanks for the listen
