There are lots of talented people here. I'm looking forward to joining the community, learning, and checking out your guy's tunes.

Here's a song I'm working on. I'm happy with most of it except the vocal line in general. It sounds a bit "cheeseball" in places so I'm considering have a female friend lay down a more soulful vocal line, perhaps with some vocoder thrown in. Any suggestions would be great as I've lost perspective on this one...

Thanks everyone!

the vocals in the verse sound like the bloke from silverchair. With the vocal melody i dont like when you go down after a held note, it sounds odd to me.
With the cheesyness try using some different sourced samples, they pretty much sound from the same drum machine... perhaps a more raw snare sound.
Good song btw :)

very nice production. i can't see any faults with the mix really. the vocal layering on the chorus sounds awesome. not my type of music really, but i like it. the drums sound perfect for this type of song. anyway, good work!

The synth sounds real cool. :)

The drums sound just right kinda pop. May more crackle in the snare would be nice.

The band sounded like Duran Duran for a minute.

The doubled vox sounds cool.

The synth/bass might be a little too heavy in places. Makes my home theater rumble. Around 2:05 it sounds like bottom heavy.

Other than that it's nice.

The alternate snare sound pretty nice.

I wouldn't change the vox.

I reckon this is seriously good
Mebbe have the vocals a bit more upfront in the chorus; sure try something different with your friend, but i like this a lot already, kind of New Order meets Boy George....
I didn't detect any cheese, but the again, there's nothing wrong with cheese.

Man, thats pretty well done. I don't know anything about synths and programmed drum samples and shit, so from a just listening perspective, I don't hear anything that seems out of place at all. The choruses sound really nice. Overall a damn fine job. :)
