I am trying to figure out which hihat stand is the best value for the money (after doing multiple searches, reading multiple boards, etc.). I do not need heavy duty persay as it will only be in the studio (and not spilling out of a dodge van on some highway between gigs). That said - I need something relatively quiet that will last. I dont want to shell out $40 for some stand that will fall apart. I havent liked the build quality of the cheap stands.

I am currently considering hi end stuff (which is mostly recommended around here) like the Tama Iron Cobra and the DW Delta (5500TD, etc.) as well as stuff in the midrange. My concern is that I dont need the high end stuff - but thats why I come here. I would rather spend around $50 or so and get a nice stand.
Does anyone know of the ones they have on sale at GC (Yamaha HS740, Pearl H800W and Tama HH75W)?
I am thinking the HH75W is a good choice but Im not really sure so I come to you.

Thanks!!

Any "name" stand should fulfill your purposes. Just make sure it has all the features you need such as rotating legs for a double bass pedal and all of the various adjustability features.

In my opinion, the best all-around bang-for-the-buck hardware around right now is the stuff by Pacific.

I going to second what theletterq said about Pacific. I've been using a Pacific hi-hat stand for the past couple of years. Up until then I had been using my old Slingerland and Ludwig (1960's style) stands. I shopped around and tried a number of them, the DW and Tama stands were great but pricier. The Pacific has all of the same features, is very heavy duty, smoothe and was only $50 at GC.
It feels like the other more expensive ones when you play it and it's really durable.

Thanks. What is the model number that you are referring to? The HH700, HH920, etc.?

Hi Scinx,
I looked all over the hi-hat stand and I can't find any indication of what model it is. It has a chain drive (nice and wide chain) a tension adjustment, the tripod will swivel around so you can easily fit a slave pedal from a double kick. The footboard stirrup is black and the footboard is black with raised chrome logo and treads. a screw adjustment to set the angle of the bottom hat.....so it's that Pacific model. Very heavy duty and $50 at GC.

Ill tell u 1 thing dont buy premier hardware it sux.

Thanks for the premier tip. I think Im gonna go for the Pacific HH900. I dont know if the 2 legged HH920 is worth the extra.
