Hey all, bran new here; first post... I'm glad I found this place.

My current setup is very simple. I purchased Guitar Rig 3 over a year ago, which came with the Session I/O interface, which has proven pretty useful, although I am sure it's not the best. Software; Cubase came with it, which has been my most commonly used DAW.

My microphone is the so popular MXL990, which goes through my Guitar Rig: Session I/O USB2.0 interface.

I just now ordered a Korg Microkey, I've played piano and guitar for the majority of my life, and I'm exited to get started with recording again. I'm hoping to replace video game time with recording time.

Sabzi from the Blue Scholars has inspired me to get into this new genre.

While I've been recording for several years now, I'm going to attempt to switch styles. I've been playing piano and guitar for most of my life, but I'm getting into beat software, and really am ignorant of everything; how to use Ableton properly, what sound banks I should be looking for, what other programs and VSTs I could use. I used to use the Classic series for almost everything that was available for free online from the developer, but it looks like that website was shut down.

Anyway, good to be here :) Can anybody offer any tips to help me get started? Anyone have experience with the Korg microkey?

Thank you =)

I'm surprised that no one has said hello and offered you some refreshment yet SlinkyBlue!

Sit down and stay awhile.
