I just put a song on soundclick called "Real Person". I just wanted you to know that I wrote it about 1970 , way before HR BBS. I wanted you to hear it from me first, no offense intended, hope you like it.

Thanks guys for the listen and the comments.
Rap is by my daughter who was about 12 when this was recorded.

Yeah, that was cool!

That rap section was straight outta Blondie's "Rapture", if'n u ask me! (likewise,... was 70's music!) ;)

Good funk wah sound gave me a kind of pre Michael whatshisname Doobie Bros vibe or maybe little feat.
Raaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaapture, man from Mars.

Thanks rayc...I'd settle for littlefeat

The rap....well, I think it's cute-as-hell, but she's my darling daughter, so I'm entitled. It was a lot of fun and a terrific dad-daughter moment. Next I'm gonna post her pounding on the piano when she was 2anda half. lol

Yeah, I have a few tapes of my kids in the studio too, and it's...

Priceless! ;)

By the way, Reel, It was recorded on a Fostex A-8. I still have it but it's only good for parts now.

Yeah, it's cool.

Maybe someone should fix the A8, someday. ;)

It needs a capstan motor, which I've not been able to find. You are the analog man, got any ideas about a possible source? Forget
Fostex, they don't support anything.

Hmmmm,... how'bout

another A8 used for parts?   ;)
That sucks about Fostex support, though. ;)

tight and funky, great work. just one remark : some instruments sound as if they were recorded through a wall. the vocals are nice and bright though.

Dig the song; it's funky. Only comment/recommendation is I'd bring up the music some, vocals seem a bit too out front. Nice job though.

Thanks guys for the listen and comments. I transferred the analog master (fostex A-8) to Yamaha aw2816 and mixed in 24bit. Way better than the original, which got some notice in the regional indies back about 1990 or so. If the vox is too forward , it's probably because I don't have a "real monitoring system" My mon amp is an ADA Microfet 100. It has a presence control on the front panel, and once in a while it will get tweaked, and the upper mids get funny. Either too much or too little, but it always shows up later. Thanks for noticing as it means that you are paying attention and I appreciate that. I probably won't do a remix, as my goal in posting to soundclick was to demo for a guy who will be using the song ( a different performance) as a bed for Hip-Hop/Rap project. He liked the live version better. Anyway, thanks again.
