Seriously, I have a question about 'tone'. As I understand it, the more extreme the break-angle over the nut the better - generally speaking! I was wondering if I should then put a decent amount of string around the tuning post, pushing the string further down and increasing the severity of the break angle?

Just been busy recently thats all. Been doing my level three cricket coaching badge and was away on tour last week. Add running a 24/7 taxi service for the kids and I haven't got much time to spare these days. Oh yeh there's work too...:o

Don't know where you got that nut break angle thing from but it ain't really an issue. Much more critical thing's going on than string/nut break angle. Did VP teach you nothing.

VP taught me plenty, but not sure whether to go with the plain talcum powder or the scented stuff? I hear the scented stuff gives you more sustain.

You sound crazy busy - that's not really cricket mate (sorry, was the best pun I could manage).

I'm a bit confused. I think I mean nut-string break angle which is about 180* from bridge to nut and, maybe with alot of string winds around the post, 45* from nut to tuning post. The picture may help:

Nope I got you right. Really in the grand scheme of things don't seat it. Any minute difference would only apply to open strings and even then I doubt you could quantify it in terms of sound and improvement.
