Holiday - What holiday???

I had two days off work over the Easter break making it a l-o-n-g weekend.

Four days in all that I spent shifting another load of blended soil (only 4 cubic metres this time). Then I dug it in. Then I raked it. Then I got some rocks from a building site close by and arranged them round a new garden bed.

Then I went to my son's house to do some odd jobs for him.

Then I fell asleep...

At no time was I naked (apart from when I took a shower). :)

I'm still waiting for Bazza to come round to my house and pay me for the work I've done for him thus far so that I can buy my shiny new Asus P4PE & Celeron 1700.

No sign of him yet.

I've been working on another funky little tune that has potential - but I can't record it until Bazza gets a move on! The new tune's called Life's Good for no reason other than it has a feel not unlike Little Feat. (Can't see the connection? Lowell George=LG=Life's Good)

I must say, I find it really difficult to get a nice loping funky drum sound from Edirol VSC. To me it's far too un-subtle, although fiddling with velocities can make it less mechanical sounding. I need that funky feel for Life's Good when I get around to laying it down.

These messages were brought to you by the colour Blue and the word Meister

That's a good news, your highness BluesMeister. I'll be waiting for Life's Good on the clinic. Hey... new compie, eh ? :) I thought I heard some minor issue about Celeron, your highness, I believe you must have a special reason for taking this baby. BTW, have you checked your PM ? It's been a week I've sent you.

a little late but...

here's another skinny guy for the collection....

Hi Audiokid, :)

I'm so pleased to see you've got as much hair as I do! Welcome to the best BB there is in the known universe. We're here to help, and if we can't offer any help, well we're still here anyway!

Scattered as we are across the globe, we share a common goal: we want our fans to prostrate themselves at our feet and shower us with praise... Although in my case you can forget the prostrating business and I'd much prefer it if you'd shower me with money.:)

Jaymz, I'm checking my PM right now. I don't check my PMs too often, I think I've only ever had two before now. :)

I'll be posting a few tunes on the clinic when Bazza get's his ass into gear! All comments regarding my music will be most welcome, especially ones that begin: "Man that is an awesome tune..." :D

I'm not aware of any problems with the Celeron Jaymz. What have you heard?

The decision to go with the Celeron 1700 is down to cost. When I can afford to do so, I'll be lobbing a P4 in there to hurry things along. :)

The new system will eventually comprise:
Asus P4PE MOBO
Celeron 1700
512MB DDR RAM
80GB Western Digital 7200 rpm HDD with 8MB cache
ATX P4-ready case with 300W PS

And rescued from my previous system
Win98SE
6.4GB HDD
GraphicsMaster GeForce2 MX400 video card
Terratec EWX24/96 audio card
LG CD-ROM drive
3-1/2" floppy
Acer Keyboard
Mouse
AcerView 17" monitor

Forgive my ignorance regarding such things, but can I install a single stick of RAM or must I go for two x 256MB sticks? Also should I be using PC2700 DDR333 memory module? (I've absolutely no idea what that means).

Also should I be looking at a 400W power supply?

BTW, have you checked your PM ? It's been a week I've sent you.
PM checked and responded to. ;)

They're slow, unstable and easy to burn... do you need more reasons? ;)

Yo Moskus,

My current system is a Celeron 466. I haven't managed to burn it yet. ;)

The price difference here in Australia between the Celeron 1700 and a P4 is quite considerable. I mean really significant. :( I'll be content with the Celeron until I can afford the next upgrade. Who knows when that will be! I'm still waiting for Bazza's delicate footsteps on my front porch, pockets stuffed with wads of cash.

Until then, I can but dream of what could be.

Any more comments regarding my upgrade?

Okay, maybe I was abit drastic in my last post... after all I had a dual processor motherboard with two Celeron 550 MHz processors in it. It was a great system (and then it got stolen)...

audioidkid, that was fantastic... You look just perfect with those fender Stratocaster. Got any tunes already on the clinic ? If not, then do so.. we'll be glad to hear ones from you :)

Blues, I get the PM. Thanks. I'll be in touch. Looked like moskus has already told you about the Celery. If you work alot with plugins, then it's easy to get drop out with Celery. Although so, sure it's price is friendly :D

moskus, that's too bad the PC has been stolen. May be the thief just wanted to tell you to buy something better than Celery :D

Pedullist, I think I've been there before. It was a great song indeed. Since there are comments posted before me, I wouldn't have to say anything more, but to rate it five stars... :)

;)

Lord Jaymz,

The connection was very slow last night so I only managed to D/L two of the split files. I'll try again this evening.

You guys may have a valid point regarding the Celery. I'll have to rethink the processor. If I can sell what's left over from my current system I could probably afford the price difference for a P4.

Moskus, that really is the lowest of the low having some uninvited creep nosing around your house. You have my sympathy.

I had my house broken into some years ago. We had some property stolen that had great sentimental value. A pair of Ren & Stimpy stuffed toys brought over from the USA for my son. Rare as hen's teeth in Australia, and some crack-head no-hoper loser scumbag low-life decided he wanted them along with a TV, my son's stereo (man I walked through Singapore for an hour and a half carrying that thing!) and a VCR. They also stole my son's collection of special issue 50c coins. Worth about $20 but it meant a lot to my son. It really is the pits.

I had alarm systems installed right away in that house and I have them in my new house. It's a sad state of affairs, it really is. Absolutely heartbreaking.

Pedullist,

I've been reading the comments on your latest offering in the MP3 clinic. I think I'd better D/L this number and see what everyone's raving about. :) Funny, you don't look shy in your avatar!

Yes. They were bizarre, cruel and sadistic. Sick, gross and tasteless.

I absolutely loved it!

Only Itchy & Scratchy are close to it. :)

Yes. Heartbreaking indeed. It was a hard lesson for my son to have to learn about life. People work hard for the things they accumulate and some heartless, selfish turd comes along a takes it. Thanks for your kind thoughts.

Perth is on Singapore time, so I'd say yes, we're in the same time zone. I'll give that D/L a go when I get home later this evening (about 5 o'clock. :)) My PC at work yesterday was interminably slow. Maybe the fault lies with our ISP (it's the same one that I have at home). We have our own domain name here at work, but the provider is the same as the one I use.

Nearly time for my 11 o'clock cuppa. White, no sugar - just a dash of Hi-Lo milk for me thanks :D

Oh yes, and I notice you have another tune up on MP3 Clinic Jaymz, I'll give it a listen tonight.
