OK Bill,

I didn't realise that Tinnitus Blues was autobiographical. I'm really sorry. How severe is your hearing loss?

I have a mild form of tinnitus in my left ear as a legacy of spending five years sitting next to a guy using an air brush re-touching photographs of farm machinery. Five years of psst psst psst.

My tinnitus presents itself as faint morse code. But unfortunately I've no idea what it's saying, and I can only hear it if everything is really quiet.

So far as 2# For The Blues is concerned, time is of no consequence. I'm pleased and relieved you didn't send it back unopened. ;) I look forward to hearing the final version.

Well my tinnitus is pretty severe :( I have a constant ring about 6k and according to the hearing tests. I can't hear anything over 6k, but some hearing in that range may be masked by the ringing. ( it sounds like a disk brake squeal that never ends)and about as loud as a comfortable tv watching volume. Exposure to moderate levels of sound cause the ringing to become even more severe. driving with the windows down can really aggravate it. wearing cans is pretty rough, but I do a lot of recording late at night so I just bear it. Sometimes Ill record something and when others listen to it they mention noises that Im totally oblivious to, but if I cut the highs that helps correct it. Actually I cant associate it to either ear since its just inside my head and totally blocking my ears from sound makes no difference. taking aspirin can cause it to increase as well. I noticed it the day after I had an MRI of my neck done and they did not give me any hearing protection. My hearing was poor before that but now It really seems much worse.

I never thought it could happen to me seems an appropriate phrase. If youve already got some ringing BE VERY careful about exposure levels and times. Once youve got it , it only gets worse
and for those of us that love our music, thats a Sad thing as the song says.

Anyway enough about that , Looks like a song we can do something with. pretty good start already with the drums and bass.

Peace
Bill

Bill, I'm realy sorry to hear that :( It reminds me to thankfull God how lucky I am. But think positive, Beethoven wrote the Moonlight sonata and alot more his masterpieces while he's totaly deaf... (I think you've heard that story :) ) You're great musician I know for whatever reason, and it's been pleasure to have you in our community :) Keep up the good work, fella :)

ps. I think the song is getting perfect now with BluesMeister and moskus on the guitar... :)

I would like to endorse what Jaymz said. I'm a relative newcomer hereabouts, but anytime you're passing through Perth, drop by for a warm welcome.

AS for 2# For The Blues, I may re-work the drums and employ a soundfont for the drums and bass guitar now that I've figured that you need multiple instances of Dyad DXi running to play multiple SFs.

Stay tuned...

Jaymz

The tune Bill was referring to is 2# For The Blues, a forthcoming collaboration between him and me. It's one of the many pieces I've composed just waiting for the right PC/software combination to arrive - which it now has.

mee toooo :D

i had a bad time with my pc. the disk drive is broken, and i can't save /recieve any files through it. I record piano midi files of BPOM, but cannot send it (my pc is not connected to internet, I had to bring the files to public internet to send it over) which i can't do it by now because of the disk failure. I will see what can I do when I find some one to fix it. I knew, i should learn computer at least for this issue :(

ps. James, what happened to your cellphone? i couldn't call you, nor sending SMS. :)

moskus - I downloaded the guitar lead that you posted at the FTP site. It says to import at measure 62, but that's not working for me. Any ideas on what the problem might be? What file did you use to play along with?

I used the Drumfile from James, and then I imported the "BPOM with bass.mp3". But the clips aren't running on the first meassure, they start at meassure 2... ;)

Okay, maybe it just should be imported somewhere around meassure 62... :D

And of course I've missed you! :D :D

Well, I think I figured out where it goes. Although in my version it doesn't align directly with any measure (although it is around measure 62 or thereabouts). :)

I'll post the latest full mix that I have in a few days. I also need to post the organ solo I promised.

It's could be that my allignment is different than yours... ;)I can post a screenshot when I get home. :)

Crikey chaps (and chapette)!

This project is screaming along at such a frantic pace it's making my head spin... :D

Maybe we should knock up something to celebrate the opening of the 2008 Olympic Games, we should just about make it if we start... Now!

Yeah! We could write the team-song for Norway...

"We suck,
we suck,
we suck in Summer Games,
but will knock,
knock,
knock your teeth out in Winter Games" :D :D :D

Responding to Taskmaster Frank's tongue-lashing, I tried to upload the organ solo for BPOM to the FTP site. However, I'm not able to connect.

Is the server still available, moskus?

As I said, I am submitting this organ part as a substitute for the sax solo that is on the original recording. Personally I would prefer the sax if anyone is game to try it. If not, this will have to do.

Just checking and wondering...is BPOM finished yet? :)
Yeah. It's already number 6 with a bullet in Nigeria and Thailand. Aren't you receiving your royalty checks??

:D

Seriously, I think we are going to try the BGV's this weekend. If they come out OK, we'll see if Jag wants to redo his lead, and after that we should have enough to call it done.

It's not quite what I envisioned when we started this (and there is still time for others to join in on the fun) but we should have enough parts available to pretty much cover the song.

(That is, assuming moskus can get the server online again so we can share the files. In the meantime, I have put the mp3 of the organ on the Yahoo Cakewalkers site. It's in the BPOM folder under the name BPOM_Hammond. I had to split it into two parts using James' splitter tool.)

It should be, but "The server has rejected your connection?"

I'm gonna have a talk to my friend...

Damn... it worked yesterday. Maybe they have a problem in Stavanger.

BluesMeister,

Nice guitar ! ! ! (personally don't care about the weight thing . . . you look normal, to me.)

Where can we hear your stuff ?

Welcome to the thread, mark4man... :D

Stick to your gun, we're probably gonna need your contribution on our collabs here  What do you play again?
