Hey moskus...

Bill,

I'll give a listen to this one tonight or tomorrow.

So far both original offerings would be perfectly doable vocally for me. I wish I had something to offer that would be suitable for a large collab like this. I'd get a better demo out if it than I can do myself :D I'll dl Bill's new offering and I'll do some sing alongs of all 3 in the car. BTW...I would be happy to sing on just about anything, but I don't want to hog the vocalist slot. If someone else wants to give a crack at something, don't be shy.

I still don't think it would be a bad idea to do a cover either to get warmed up. If we did that, perhaps we could do another original for the next HRcomp cd. There is plenty of time. Remember, I suggested something from Chicago, perhaps, "Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is" or "Saturday In The Park". There are horns, guitars, keys, BG vocals...

We could call our band ACKUS...except some of the cool kids here actually don't :D. How about CUACK (Cakewalk Users Are Cool Kids) pronounced like "quack' :D:D:D

Stay away from my balls, will ya ? :p
Didn't plan on going near them!!!!!

they won't match any tempo... so I kindly request, if during making "mp3 demo" process, you guys should follow tempo :)

Sorry... that track was recorded late at night just so you guys could hear the chord/vocal arrangement.

*scratch...scratch...*

Must you?

Porter, the song (So I'll dream) was played on "B" and overtuned in the middle to "C#". Did you mean to play it on "C" overtuned to "D" ? Sorry, but it's little difficult to play on "B" on certain instruments (violin, trumpet ?) :) So, if you don't mind to play it on "C", then problem will be eliminated :o I tried to lay some quick drums track with toms, but somehow it sounds like "With or without you" (U2) :D

The first chord was played as "A".. capo second ie. actual chord = "B"

Hey Porter, nice website !!! :) a little correction would be Bill's name right beside the song on Project page... should it be Bill Faraoni instead of Bill Waraoni ? I could be wrong anyway... :D

Me and Clemie are in Indonesia :)

Thanks!!!! I miss that one with Bill... & I'll update the projects page tonight.

Regards,

Porter

I was actually thinking about something similar ;)

I know we couldn't use ACKUS because half the people who want to work on this are not using Sonar!! I was actually thinking about using ACKUC (All Cool Kids Use Cakewalk)

Okay then...

Here is the deal...

I have so many soundfont files right here. Thousands of them on bunch of CDs. I collected them by purchasing, bundled, downloading freebies, and comes through post of so many demo CDs I recieved by mail over years. I'd like to share some of them (the freebies) to Cakewalk forumist mates, since thesoundsite dot net is down for uncertain time. But unfortunately, I didn't have any server to host them. They are worth over 1 GB which devided into 2 categories (original and economy). So, each file has two version for file size wise. I still verify which can go and which doesn't. If anyone of you interest to provide some space and any necessary web pages, just tell me.

;)

Jaymz,

Would you like to create a text file or something similar with the details of all the sound fonts on the website and for people to contact you if they want that sample/collection of?

Porter

BTW, I've submitted a couple of my songs over in the mixing clinic... I"m going to have a busy night re-mixing them!! Check 'em out!

Yup :)
I can list them, but I'm not sure how to make the homepage, there are too many files :o

Hey, I'm downloading while typing... I'm in the office now. I'll give them a listen, and re-download at home :) Cool !

[QUOTEwfaraoni, I tried also replacing the drum part on Moonbeams . As it has backing sequenced drums, it should be more easier for me to do :) Anyway, what's the tempo did you set ?

[/QUOTE]
Jaymz, This mess was my FIRST recording, and I used a keyboard to input those terrible drums. So there is no way that a drum track will keep time with what is recorded. I'm such an amateur and I have a tendency to waver in time through the songs Ive produced so far so the best thing I can suggest would be to start from scratch with something relatively close.

It would be GREAT to have a decent rhythm track to work with from the beginning. whether we do it here or I do It later on my own.

Also the songs a bit long but I cant figure what could be cut without loosing the story:( of the lyrics which I like a bunch. Probably some of the best lyrics Ive written, But you have to read them to understand them because the recording is so poor:(

Glad to see the activity picking up here

Peace
Bill

If you just want to do a dir /s or something similar and I can build it from there...

Curious to hear what you say.. remember to take in consideration what I said in the initial post.

Jagular; better print the lyrics to the moonbeams song because the recording is very poor and I doubt anyone can get the words figured out without a cheat sheet :D

About a cover: If we try a cover first lets get one thats not too difficult, one with horns would be nice as well. I actually am terrible at covers but I may learn something. How about some blood sweat and tears? maybe ,God bless the child!! No , thats too hard but it is one of my very most favorites.:)

Ive got it, the flintstones theme LMAO

Nice going Jaymz , (Slaps self in forehead), I must be getting early alzhiemers or something because I didn't even catch that.

Come to think of it I may be getting too old to call it early :(

Peace

Porter, Feelings song, very Nice job my friend! I like the overall feel of it. Vox faded @2:45 for a bit, Guitar was a little too upfront in a few spots and the bass was too far back but thats about all that stood out as needing in any way. Drums are tough for everyone I guess.

Nice Job, cool vox

Peace

I can't do it, captain! I just can't do it! Right now anyway... I'm three weeks away from my DAW...:(

Heh...I actually dl'd last night. I should be listening to them today at work :D

Flintstones :)
I just got a pod xt today and you'll never guess what one of the free online lessons is. The flintstones theme LMAO

This could be a sign

For those not aware of it the new line 6 pod xt now is capable of doing those guitarport things, where you get a song track without the guitar and it makes your guitar sound just like the original when you play the included tab. This is pretty cool. especially if your half deaf like me! I fight with tone issues constantly and these are a good start. I guess Ill learn how to do a cover eventually :)

Im going to work on the flintstones theme for a few weeks first though.

Peace
Bill

Moskus

Three bloody weeks holiday:eek: You can tell you are from Norway:)

Bill

Got a POD XT? Bastard, Bastard, Bastard:D

Btw, how does it sound, please tell me whilst I drool and turn green with envy:rolleyes:

BUT,Now Ive gotta sell my pod 2.0 mintish :):D :) :D :o :D along with about half a dozen too many guitars :) I collect Hagstroms, that was my first decent guitar, My uncle got me an Impala for wholesale at age 13 and Ive been hooked ever since!

I like the guitar toys as well, the pod xt type of modeling will eventually be the must have of the future, if your a techy type player. I pulled in a SRV tone for "lenny" and it was closer than anything Ive EVER been able to achieve with fx stuff. so I tried a satriani tone :) pretty darn good as well. Im sold, but Im easily sold! Since Im half deaf :( I always struggle with tones.

I rate it as good in its element as I rate my Sonar 2, which has already proven the test of time.

Now if I ould only learn to play. LOL

Peace
Bill

Bill, that sounds great, I have gotta get me one of them dang things:rolleyes:

I am a tone freak, I have an Epiphone L.Paul custom and a Peavey amp but I can't get the range of tones I need, so the POD would seem ideal. Got a good review in SOS magazine.

Looks like I'll be writing my Christmas wish list early this year:rolleyes:

Boy oh boy... Used to have the same guitar spec here Paul... Epiphone LP custom, dan small Peavey  It was when I can't afford Gibson, what could I say :o :D Hey, you know what ? I started my "musical journey" as guitar player many many years ago. And though I didn't play guitar that much anymore (switched to keyboard and programing, but still play it sometime), I do have more guitar gears than keyboard gears :D I found it's one of the hardest part to get the range of tones I wanted. POD is next to new Audio soundcard (that would be ~ Aug / Sept) :D

Even though I have a Zoom floor processor, out of 64+ sounds, only 6 are usable, IMHO.

The POD would be the answer, I have to have one:)
