I find that GS is one of the most annoying places in cyberspace. I generally limit myself to two discussions groups there: the Remote/Acoustic recording group, and the Geekslutz. Discussion in these groups is lively, informative, and generally respectful in disagreement.

Anytime I carelessly stray outside those groups, I find myself in a cesspit of egos, ad hominem attacks, and pseudoscience being peddled as established fact.

I guess that, to a lesser degree, the same can be said of HR, but the "tone" here is generally better (outside the Analog Only group, that is )
