...hehe....I didn't think so. But hopefully you'll give this a listen anyway..... :)

My first mix of many, as usual...I think I mixed the back vocals too loud (The "aaaaaahhh's" especially). Any feedback is much appreciated.

SPIDERS IN MY HEAD

Sorry you're so down, hope you're feeling better soon.

I'm not depressed yet but I will be tomorrow when I have to work on the weekend....

Nice thick bass/kick thump in my headphones....

Cool blues/melodic guitar playing in the intro and throughout the tune.

Not sure but I think the harmony/vocals are a little pitchy/dissonnant just in the part before the dead stop (1:27/2:25).

The ahhhhhs don't sound too loud.

Cool arrangement with the stops too..

The harmonies are good - in the background where they need to be and other times very together.

Drums are as always very well recorded and solid.

Sweet lead at the end - very British - like Queen!

Another Cool Tune!

Hey thanx IDO...I'll have to re-listen to those vocals. If they're off I'll re- do them. I thought the "aaahhh's" were actually a little pitchy, but I'm glad it's the other part if it has to be any part. It will be alot easier to re-do that part. I don't have "Auto-Tune and it was tempting to get it just for this tune with all the vocals, but I resisted and just did the best I could. Thanx for the listen, I really appreciate it.

Great song, RAMI - and fantastic arrangemement vocally.

Are you using new mics? Your snare just sounds GREAT. How do you do that? I like the stops especially.

Good stuff, bro.

Thanx Super. I'm using the same mics (2 C1000's, a sm57, 1 D112), but I started setting up my overheads different recently. Most of the snare sound is coming from the overheads. I really like this configuration. One overhead is directly over the snare pointing down, and the other one is the exact same distance from the centre of the snare but over my left shoulder (which would be your right shoulder, I'm a lefty). I sometimes find the snare too loud in the overheads, which is a nice problem to have.

Cool tune Rami. I really like where the bass is sitting. Nice tone, and it has a great space. Reading the other posts, I say I like the drums. I won't say I notice anything dramatic from your other stuff, as you have always had a great sound. These seem to have plenty of room. Really punchy also.

Cool tune man. :D

Well Rami, you've done it again! I like the reference to Poe :)

I say what I always say, but it's truerer on this occasion than ever: Great take, great mix, don't touch it!!, Lovely lovely song!, best i've heard from you ever and possibly the best i've heard on the forum. Absolutely love it. You arsehole.

Honestly, i just relaxed and enjoyed and NOTHING stuck out as wrong or annoying. I guess there's that slight sway, is it the backing vox?....at 2:22. Yeah....

It's not depressing in the least though :D
Has nice KISS ballad touch to it at times ("so let me...." )

I know you're a perfectionist and you probably love tweaking forever, so go on then.....ha ha....

and thanks for sharing :)

Rami,
I REALLY like the bass part.
The close harmony parts, like around 2.15, are Beatlesque - in the nicest possible way.
When you do the "...Spiders in my head..." line I kept thinking high/falsetto Tubes-ish - hea e e e ed -even though you weren't trying for that.
The drums do sound really together - anyone'd think a drummer had something to do with the recording.
The second pause - is it be longer/shorter/the same as the 1st?
As for depression - nah - more cathartic I'd say.
Top Shelf.
Cheers

Fat tune man.
Cool lyrics and mood, solid sounds.
Love the harmony parts, It gives me a Lennon feel as do most of the song.
Love the sudden stop, great prefomance Buddy.
:)

Excellent song Ram-man, the overall feel to me was actually kind of laid back and enjoyable... so no depressed snakes over here :)
That stop at 1:39 is trademark Rami. Ha, since it's soundclick my first reaction couldn't help being... "oh there goes soundclick again!"
Love that rhythm tone you have, what guitar do you play?
I really dig those little bass runs you have around 2:30... sounds cool. Overall there were a lot of interesting things/changes going on throughout.
Solid

Thanx for the feedback, guys. I'll be re-doing a couple of pitchy vocal lines, and I find the lead vocal in the intro not smooth sounding enough. I think I think I had my voice too loud in the head phones and it was bleeding into the mic, there's a sizzle I don't like.
Snakedog, to answer your question, I use a Strat of some sort and some year made in some country, I have no idea...Switched the strings to make it a lefty.
Thanx guys.

this has a few nice parts that really contribute to the whole. including technical aspects, i'm surprised the guitar solo wasn't more up front in the mix.

Yes!

Yes! I totally dug this tune! How did you get such clean vox? What are you using? Kick ass!

Thanx alot guys.

Junplugged, you find the lead not up front enough? I'll check that out. I guess I'm not that crazy about my lead playing, so I try to keep it as part of the mix insyead of really getting it out there as a solo.

Monkeyshock, thanx, I'm glad you like the tune. I'm using an AKG C100B going into some sort of Behringer pre-amp into my TASCAM 2488 for my vocals. I'm glad they sound good to you. When I solo them, I find my tracks noisier than I'd like.

I like this quite a bit. Great harmonys on the vocals, reminds me of queen. Nice and tight, you definitely have a great sound happening on the vox. Very cool.

Rami, how do you process, mix your vocals? What are some of teh steps you generally use?

Rami, I love this one. Spiders In My Head !!! That is good. :D

Love the matter of fact intro.

I love the stop-starts in the song. Your vocals are great, and the back ups are fine in volume.

Who's playin' those hot drums? ;)

Guitar sounds good to my ear...always does! Be louder!!

I also love the outro. Excellent.....love you! :)

I'm on my third go now.

Dude, frickin' awesome. The vocals, especially the background harmonies as well as the lead, top notch. Production, top frickin' notch. Bass guitar, excellent tone, excellent playing, drums beautiful.

Rami - relistening (i.e. enjoying) to this today...

The vocals arrangements are top notch and also remind me of Queen - with all the different parts. As in Dogman's post, it would be cool if you can describe the process. (Harmonies and mixing them are things I really need to learn about/work on).

I really liked the verb(s) you used on this - is it outboard or a plug-in? It sounds great....

I agree with Junplugged's post - your guitar playing is great (you're too modest) - especially nice backing the last verse and the solo on the outro. Again, the lead guitar harmonies, like the vocals, remind me of Queen.

Always enjoy your tunes - just thought I'd add this......
