Hey all!

So I'm not super experience, but trying to learn and improve and so here is a mix I've prepared to get tips on :) So I've worked this mix as much as I can and am overall happy with it (with some exceptions on vocal mix). This recording is actually my own band, so feel free to critique that too. I'd especially appreciate tips on the vocal mix, cuz I'm not quite satisfied with with. I've done some eq to take out the heavy sibilance and a little compression and a touch of reverb, but that's pretty much it.

Thanks!

It sounds very thin and lacks any real depth. It's totally got that low budget demo sound. I also think the vocals are too dry and need some delay or something. And I feel the lead vocals are too loud too. can't even really hear the rhythm or bass just mostly the lead guitar and vocals and they don't sound that good... Sounds like 2 different songs playing at the same time towards the end lol. Keep at it though it's hard getting shit just right when you're new to it.

Thanks for giving it a listen. I know there's certainly a lot of flaws, but how do you suggest improvement of said flaws? thanks

Focus on one thing at a time. Find your favorite best sounding recording of similar music and try to get the same guitar tones. Then do the same for the drums, bass etc. Spend a lot of time on the vocals and record them until they are perfect. Might take a long time to get them just right. Here are some simple videos that can be helpful. There isn't any one way to do this stuff, but this can help with some basic knowledge.
